Eccleston Square Residents' Association

ESRA (Eccleston Square Residents’ Association) and Eccleston Square Garden Limited “the Company”, are separate entities with different aims and objectives, although they work together on issues of mutual interest.

The Company is responsible for the management and maintenance of the garden. Everything that happens within the garden, its running and maintenance and all queries raised by fob holders come to the attention of the Company’s Directors and are discussed at regular board meetings.

ESRA keeps residents aware of what is going on in the local community and its aim is twofold.

  • To keep residents aware of what is going on in the local community which might affect them, and to lobby relevant authorities on behalf of residents.  Recent issues include:  Victoria Street development; Tachbrook Street market; bicycle hire schemes; parking in Pimlico; traffic; crime in the area; and major planning developments such as new office buildings and road schemes.

  • To encourage communication among residents by meeting up a couple of times a year, principally at the ESRA summer BBQ held in the garden and also at the winter AGM.

In support of ESRA the garden hosts the annual summer BBQ for fob holders and for the members of ESRA

ESRA works closely with the Warwick Ward Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT), and other local groups such as FREDA and The Westminster Society, to address local problems which are of particular concern to the Square or to the wider neighbourhood.

The main forums for communication are through the ESRA AGM, which is usually held over the winter period (November – February), through the ESRA newsletter that comes out once a year (sometime between April and October), through ad-hoc emails to members and via notices on the garden gates.

All residents of the Square may join ESRA, as well as those living in the vicinity, and all are encouraged to do so. Members of ESRA receive an annual newsletter and can participate in any meetings or social activities.  Annual subscription to ESRA is currently £25, which entitles members to attend the free summer party, and receive the newsletter.
